April 10, 2021

The law refers to any business between landlords and tenants in the state of Lagos. It also does not exclude long leases and thus covers the relationship between landlords and leases within the state. 1. Subject to a contrary agreement, an existing tenant may, as in Form TL 11, ask the Court of Justice for a decision declaring inappropriate the increase in rent payable under a tenancy agreement. Subject to a contrary provision of the tenancy agreement, the tenant – d) must take the expiry or any other provision of the tenancy agreement within the statutory time frame; a tenant in lawful employment after the expiry of the first tenancy period in accordance with the provisions of this Act and includes a tenant who renews an existing tenancy agreement after the term has expired; A commercial space lease agreement is considered to provide for whether the landlord – (1) pays the rents on time and in the manner indicated; b) the tenant has not occupied the premises since the expiry of the lease and has not renounced the legitimate ownership of the premises. A rental agreement is an agreement between a landlord (the owner of the property) and the tenant (the person who acquires the property for rent) and who sets the terms of the contract such as rent, use of the property, agreements between the two parties, termination conditions, etc. Lagos State Tenancy Law 2011 is the lagos state lease framework law. A rental agreement must be drafted by the landlord`s lawyer and duly controlled by a potential tenant before adding his signature. It is important to explain that there is a penalty for a defaulting landlord who refuses to issue a receipt to a tenant, which is to prevent fraudulent practices against ignorant tenants and to enforce a binding obligation between the parties executing the contract. Section 5(3) of the rental right is specified; 4. Notification to tenants covered in point 1 (c) and (e) of this section must not end on the anniversary of the lease, but may end at the expiry or expiry of the lease.

“Renter” means that a tenant is interested in a tenant under a rental contract: the Lagos Law on Rents 2011 stipulates that it is illegal for a landlord or his broker to rent or receive a tenant of one month longer than 6 months or a year by an annual tenant. It is also illegal for the sedentary tenant to offer or pay for an annual rent of more than one year and for a monthly tenant for 6 months. The penalty for landlords and tenants involved in such an agreement is a fine of N100,000 or to 3 months imprisonment. This document is used by a landlord and tenant for rental purposes only for residential purposes. It is only used if the term of the lease is less than 3 years. From the beginning of the lease agreement, it is the responsibility of the party who performs the services of a company under the lease agreement to pay the taxes for these professional services.
